went and got hellspawn today

went back to suncoast today and picked up Hellspawn. When I went up to the counter and handed it to the clerk, he kinda blinked and said "ah..interesting choice." not entirely sure why he said that, unless it was because I'm a girl buying figures..that tends to surprise people sometimes.

anyways, just opened it up and I'm quite happy with my purchase. the cape is a lot bigger than I thought it would be, and looks damned cool. the gun kicks ass as well. I'm glad that they included a stand with him, as balancing the figure with that cape is probably a bit of a bitch without one.

and y'know, I'm starting to really like this whole dark, dull colored look that the two hellspawns, raven 2, and the s24 box set have. the s24 set looks like it belongs more with the figures I have from this line than it does with the ones I have from s24.

now if only I could find a redeemer with lots of green on its wings, I'd be set. so far all of the ones I've seen just have those little mold spot patches.

Aha I knew you'd dig him. Ya I love that muted color look of these guys..plus how the costume appears to be part of their actual anatomy, as opposed to just an outfit.

Anyhow, mine can stand fairly decently on his own thanks to his cape support...but not for too long.

PS- that clerk reminds me of the many cashiers at Walmart who stop and stare at the figs before bagging them. "I dunno what the hell this is is, but ok, cool"

If I remember correctly, one piece of the cape is much more rigid than the other pieces that hang down. I think it's the thin part in back and to Spawn's right. This should keep him standing nicely without having to use the base. Try pulling the S shaped part of the cape near his right foot forward as much as you can too. It looks really nice that way.
